Russia wants to diminish dependence on imported coal equipment
MOSCOW, Feb 24 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Energy Ministry will develop a plan to diminish dependency of the coal industry on imported equipment, the ministry said in a statement Tuesday following a meeting of its minister Alexander Novak with heads of coal producing companies.
The government should support Russian makers of coal equipment, while Novak said that all suggestions from the companies will be reflected in the ministry’s work.
In 2014, Russia’s coal production rose 0.7% to 356 million tonnes, while coal exports rose 8.3% to 149.329 million tonnes, according to the data of the Federal State Statistics Service.
